Terence M. Cullen

A native of Ithaca, Terry Cullen was a three-letter athlete at Hobart College where he quarterbacked the football team, played basketball and was a three-year starting midfielder in lacrosse.

Rather than specializing in a single sport after graduation from Hobart with a BA in Mathematics in 1964, Terry’s career specialized in a single community: Ithaca, New York. His father, Bob, was a coaching legend in the city on Cayuga’s waters. Terry has coached at Cornell, Ithaca College, Ithaca High School and numerous club teams.

At Cornell, Terry is the senior employee of the Athletic Department where he coached the Sprint (former lightweight) football team since 1964. He coached freshman lacrosse for the Big Red, scholastic lacrosse at Ithaca High, the Upstate Lacrosse Club and the Miller Brewery club team. He was names National Coach of the Year in 1978 and coached Team USA. He has also been active in officiating for thirty years.

Terry lives in Ithaca with his wife Suzanne. He has two children and a great granddaughter.
