Russ George

Russ George began his lacrosse journey playing minor box lacrosse on the Onondaga Reservation from ages 13 to 17, later transitioning to men’s box lacrosse from ages 17 to 23. He also played for Lafayette High School from 1967 to 1970 and spent one year playing field lacrosse at Oswego State. Russ went on to play professional box lacrosse with the Quebec Caribous (“Les Caribous”) from 1974 to 1975, where he was part of the team that won the 1975 Nations Cup NLL championship.

In addition to his playing career, Russ contributed to the sport by coaching minor, junior, and senior box lacrosse at Onondaga, Oswego, and Oneida, sharing his passion and knowledge with the next generation of lacrosse players.
