Ronald (Ron) began his love for lacrosse at West Genesee High School as a junior. In his senior year, he was named a first-team all-upstate midfielder. In 2000, he was named to the Upstate High School All-Century Lacrosse Team. Ron was the first of many Wildcats to be recruited and play lacrosse at Syracuse University.
At Syracuse University, Ron played attack & midfield, leading his team in scoring each year he played. After graduation, he moved to Long Island to pursue a career at The Coca-Cola Company and played lacrosse for Long Island Athletic Club (USCLA). Over his 16 years playing career, LIAC won 8 United States Club Lacrosse Association Championships. Ron was named 1st Team USCLA All American 9 times, USCLA Player of the Year in 1973, and played on Team USA World Championship Team in 1974. He also coached Eastern Military Academy (HS) and was an assistant coach at Hofstra University.
In 1982, Ron’s career at The Coca-Cola Company took him to Boston, MA., where he played and coached Brine Lacrosse Club and was voted USCLA Coach of the Year in 1990. Additionally, Ron was the Coach/GM of The Boston Blazers (MILL) from 1989-1995. In 2002, Ron was an assistant coach for the Team USA, 2002 World Champions.
Ron has been inducted into; The Long Island Lacrosse Hall of Fame, New England Lacrosse Hall of Fame, in1987 the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, and now the Upstate Lacrosse Foundation Hall of Fame!
Ron retired from The Coca-Cola Company after 46 years of service and continues to live in the New England area with his wife Kathlene. He and his wife have 3 sons (Randy, Chris & Colin) who all played lacrosse. Ron is currently an assistant lacrosse coach at Hopkinton High School with his son Chris.
