Alison (Brown) Platz has had an outstanding lacrosse career both as a player and coach, earning a spot in the Upstate Lacrosse Foundation’s Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Her playing career began at Old Dominion University, where she played as a midfielder and graduated in 1997. Following her collegiate career, she transitioned into coaching, contributing significantly at multiple levels.

Platz has coached at various institutions, including two years at Mercyhurst University and one year at Gannon University. She has also been deeply involved in youth lacrosse, coaching middle school and high school teams for over four years. Most notably, she has been the head varsity coach at Chardon High School for three years. She is also currently associated with Maxim Lacrosse, where she continues to mentor and inspire young athletes.

Her coaching philosophy emphasizes building a strong, supportive team culture and helping players achieve personal breakthroughs. These contributions to lacrosse as both a player and coach have earned her the recognition and respect of the lacrosse community.
